If there’s one thing I’ve learnt lately, it’s that life’s little unknowns will always keep you on your toes. But those moments when we dive into the fog and can’t exactly see our way through are exactly what gives us the ability to see clearer on the other side.
As humans, we fall complacent — and it’s what stops us from evolving. In order to innovate, aspire and inspire, we need to reinvent ourselves continuously. And that means being 100% comfortable with who we are, but still being 100% willing to go grow even further.
There is no limit to growth; your ability to thrive and turn little opportunities into big realities is an endless cycle, and that’s the beauty of life. The unfortunate part is that this doesn’t come without challenges.
Every misstep that trips you up; every breath that catches in your throat; every hurdle you struggle to jump — these are all stepping stones to prove ourselves…to ourselves.
The key is to tackle each of these “tests of strength and will” with your chin up, knowing that no matter how much you stumbled, you still made it back on your feet afterwards.
Because ultimately, the scars and wounds, cuts and grazes, broken bones and shattered hearts that we accumulate over the years all add up to one thing…
Proof that we even lived at all.
So if you’re reading this and you feel like you’ve lost yourself in an ocean of riptides (metaphorically) and can’t make your way to the surface, know this:
keeping afloat is all about laying back and letting the water under you lift you up. And that is life; an ocean of moments that will drag you down if you let it but will also raise you in ways you never thought were possible.
